Employee rights and responsibilities in HRM

Employee Rights and Responsibilities

Each individual, whether an employee or employer within the company, is allotted distinct rights and well-defined obligations. Every member of the organization possesses a clear understanding of their tasks upon arriving and recording their attendance (Azmi, 2021).

Rights of an employee in an organization

 Break time

Employees typically have the right to a certain amount of break time during their working hours.

Fixed working hours

Employees generally have the right to know their fixed working hours in advance. This helps them plan their personal lives and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Safe and healthy working hours

Employees have the right to work in an environment that is safe and conducive to their health. This includes protection from hazards, provision of necessary safety equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.

Availability of the resources which belong to the company

Employees have the right to access and use company resources necessary to perform their job effectively. This can include tools, equipment, software, and other resources required for their tasks.

Paid Leaves

Paid leaves, such as annual leave (vacation), sick leave, and public holidays, are typically provided to employees. These leaves allow employees to take time off work while still receiving their regular pay (Bocean et al., 2022).

The significant role of employee rights and responsibilities for an Organization.....

§  When employees are aware of and provided with their rights, it enhances their motivation and job satisfaction. They feel valued and respected, leading to increased loyalty and dedication to the organization.

§  Clearly defined responsibilities help employees understand their roles and tasks, promoting a sense of accountability and reliability (Garg, 2022).

Conclusion

Employee rights and responsibilities create a balanced and harmonious workplace. By knowing their entitlements and duties, employees feel valued and accountable, driving motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational success.
